DFAG:- The Domain and Functional Advisory LLP (DFAG) metamorphosed from The Next Leap (TNL) consulting, which started in 2007.  As the new name suggests, DFAG is a multi-sectoral consulting organisation, which provides services in urban planning, sustainable freight, market access programs, non-motorized transport planning, transport emissions management, and indoor air quality.

While we wage on the social issue of the community to understand and offer adaptive solutions to our clients, we are keen on providing the right tools and business environment solutions that are optimal, customized, and have long-term viability.

India is growing in all sectors by leaps and bounds. Most people are working and spending more time in varied work environments. This translates into the need to purify, maintain, restore, and protect the inside environment even more. And this is what we at DFAG, are experts in. DFAG has experts who have nearly two decades of experience creating a healthier living environment; we have made an altogether new industry in India.

Indoor AQ

Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) can be defined as the nature or quality of air as it affects the health and well-being of building occupants. EPA & National Institute for Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH), and others, show indoor pollutant levels may be 10 to 100 higher than outdoors.

As per the World Health Organisation, up to one-third of buildings in industrialised countries are unhealthy and unsuitable for daily inhalation. And the combined consequences of diminished productivity and staff absenteeism could amount to 1% of GNP in industrialised countries. And hence the IAQ is so essential.

Let’s see what makes the Indoor air so polluted:

Dust, Pollen, Skin Particles, Dust mite Faecal Pellets.

Volatile Organic Compounds – VOCs. Organic chemicals are widely used as ingredients in household products. They are found in plants, varnishes, new carpets, and wax, as well as many cleaning, disinfecting, cosmetic, degreasing, and hobby products.

Formaldehyde- Formaldehyde is found in most the building materials and household products.

Asbestos and Pesticides.

Standard office supplies and equipment.

Clothing, Furnishings, Draperies, and Carpets.

Human skin, hair, human off gassing etc.

Cleaning processes include sweeping, dusting, and vacuuming.

Cooking gas, oil burning, smoking

From shoes of people walking into a building.

Most of the person’s exposure to many air pollutants comes through inhalation of indoor air, both because of the amount of time spent indoors and the higher pollution levels indoors. DFAG helps you clean the indoor air and provides improved and breathable indoor air.

Benefits of good IAQ:

  • Increased Employee Morale
  • Increased Productivity
  • Improved Comfort
  • Fewer Insurance Claims
  • Reduced Legal Claims

Health & Urban Affairs

Health

We are developing knowledge-based innovation models for sustainability in critical areas touching our lives, such as water, urban infrastructure, livelihoods, energy, industry and transportation.

DFAG and its partners endeavour to work on improving human health in cities by providing health advisory services based on their indoor conditions. The team comprises air quality, and toxicology experts, along with doctors to help analyse the indoor setting for correlating the health conditions with their respective city atmospheres. the distinctive combination of architectural science, health, toxins and practices will help unravel the reasons for the underlying issues being faced by the
members.

Green Freight and Logistics

Freight is the fastest-growing source of emissions from transportation around the world. Government policies tend to focus on private vehicles and public transport more than on trucks. Whether it is the introduction of cleaner fuels, fuel economy standards, tax incentives or investments in infrastructure, fleet upgrades and information technology to improve transport, the freight sector is still behind. This is despite a considerable potential to reduce fuel use and costs and CO2 and air pollutant emissions from trucks in Asia. “Empty miles” (miles travelled without a load) are high and exacerbated by a fragmented sector, and thus efforts to improve freight logistics are initiated across Asia.
